British actor Christian Coulson—best known for his role as Tom Riddle in Harry Potter, as well as The Hours and The Good Liar—will narrate the beloved Hans Christian Anderson tale with Robert Paterson's music in The Bell.

Join us in celebrating Victoria Paterson’s 50th birthday with Tintinnabuli, an evening of music inspired by the sounds of bells. The program includes selected motets by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, as well as Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, both featuring Musica Sacra and conducted by maestro Kent Tritle.

Also included on the program are three works by AME Artistic Director Robert Paterson, including Suite for String Orchestra, conducted by maestro David Amado of the Delaware Symphony, the NY premiere of Graffiti Canons, conducted by maestro Kent Tritle and featuring Musica Sacra, and the NY premiere of The Bell, featuring American Modern Ensemble and famed British actor Christian Coulson—best known for his role as Tom Riddle in Harry Potter, as well as The Hours and The Good Liar—who will narrate the beloved Hans Christian Anderson tale with Paterson’s music.

The program is inspired by a compositional style created by Arvo Pärt, introduced in his Für Alina (1976), and used again in Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten (1977). This simple style was influenced by the composer's mystical experiences with chant music.
