Performance of Elegy for Two Cellos and Piano on the Charles Ives Concert Series as the 2019 Composer-In-Residence,, presented by The Danbury Music Centre and featuring Ives Series Artist-Faculty; Paul Frucht and Jon Cziner, Artistic Directors.

Join us at the Peter Norton Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre for the New York debut of the Charles Ives Concert Series. The evening will feature Ives Series artist-faculty performing a program that celebrates Ives with one of the most important aspects of his legacy: the music of today’s American composers. The second movement of is famous piano trio sets the stage for works by the 2017, 2018, and 2019 Ives Series composers-in-residence: Justin Dello Joio, Nina C. Young, and Robert Paterson, respectively. Pieces by the series artistic directors, Paul Frucht and Jon Cziner round out the program. Artists performing include pianist Marika Bournaki, violist Molly Goldman, cellist Mitch Lyon, violinist George Meyer, pianist Mika Sasaki, cellist Julian Schwarz, violist Jacob Shack, and violinist Chelsea Starbuck Smith.

Tickets: $20 online, $25 at the door, $10 for seniors, students, and children.
