Paterson Duo Artistic Statement


	The Paterson Duo existed from 1998-2007. The mission of this duo was to perform, commission and record as many new, high-quality works as possible specifically written for violin and marimba.
	As a duo, we premiered, performed and commissioned new works by emerging or leading American composers. We placed a primary focus on playing works that contain innovative writing for this instrumental combination, particularly works that use six mallets on the marimba. We presented works by composers with diverse styles, and worked hard on finding works by composers that reached audiences on many different levels.

	If we reform, we will release a CD of new works specifically written for us.
