Quintet of the Americas concert

Quintet of the Americas will give the unofficial World Premiere of my new Wind Quintet. They commissioned this work through an American Composers Forum Jerome Composers Commissioning Grant. They are truly a remarkable ensemble, and one of the most established and longest-running chamber groups in New York City.

American Modern Ensemble Debut Concert

This will be the debut concert of a new group called the American Modern Ensemble. The concert will consist of my own works, including Braids, Thursday, Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano, Komodo and the NY premiere of Stepping Into The Batter’s Box, He Hears His Father’s Voice. I played marimba.

WNYE 91.5 On the Sidelines with Vinny Aceto Radio Broadcast Interview

I was interviewed by Vinny Aceto. We discussed my new work for tenor and piano called Stepping Into The Batter’s Box, He Hears His Father’s Voice, based on the life of NY Mets baseball player Mike Piazza. The text was written by two writer friends of mine, Kenny Berkowitz and Bridget Meeds. It was performed by the American Modern Ensemble with Paul Sperry, tenor and Ieva Jokubaviciute, piano.

Volti choir concert

I am honored to be the Volti choir's second Choral Arts Labratory composer. I was commissioned to write a new work called The Essence of Gravity, a four-movement work for mixed, acappella choir. It has been wonderful working with the choir, their Music Director, Bob Geary, and their resident composer, Mark Winges. This will be the 1st World Premiere concert. Thee program will also consist of works by Aaron Copland, Irving Fine, Virgil Thomson and Ron Caltabiano.

This work was commissioned by George Myers and The Ithaca High School Orchestra along with the Ithaca City School District for thier 100th Anniversary Celebration. This group has the distinction of being the oldest. continuously-running high school orchestra in the United States.
