They are truly a remarkable ensemble, and one of the most established and longest-running chamber groups in New York City.

We discussed my new work for tenor and piano called Stepping Into The Batter’s Box, He Hears His Father’s Voice, based on the life of NY Mets baseball player Mike Piazza. The text was written by two writer friends of mine, Kenny Berkowitz and Bridget Meeds. It was performed by the American Modern Ensemble with Paul Sperry, tenor and Ieva Jokubaviciute, piano.

I am honored to be the Volti choir's second Choral Arts Labratory composer. I was commissioned to write a new work called The Essence of Gravity, a four-movement work for mixed, acappella choir. It has been wonderful working with the choir, their Music Director, Bob Geary, and their resident composer, Mark Winges. This will be the 1st World Premiere concert. Thee program will also consist of works by Aaron Copland, Irving Fine, Virgil Thomson and Ron Caltabiano.
